Note: There is a minimum number of participants required to register in order for workshops to take place. In the event of a workshop cancellation due to low enrollment, registrants will receive a full refund. All workshop participants will receive certificates of completion at the conclusion of the session.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
This three-hour workshop will review the American Heart Association’s new guidelines and changes for Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. This
workshop is open to all attendees. Those without a certification will be able to earn one during this session, and those who are currently certified will
be able to recertify. Refresh skills on performing one- and two-rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on adults, children and infants. Become
proficient in automated external defibrillator and bag mask use. Review rescue breathing and the Heimlich maneuver.
Workshop cost: $50.
EKG Interpretation
This two-hour workshop will discuss the systematic assessment of an electrocardiography (EKG) test, including rate, rhythm, intervals and axis
interpretation. Session participants will also learn how to give an accurate and descriptive analysis and clinical impression of multiple EKGs when
comparing rate, rhythm, intervals and axes results. This workshop is limited to 25 participants.

Suturing Techniques: Practice, Practice, Practice
This two-hour workshop will give participants the practice they need to improve their suturing skills. This workshop will review basic suturing
principles. Additionally, the instructor will define and give the appropriate use of five basic suturing methods. By the end of the session, participants
will show proficiency in using the simple interrupted, vertical mattress, horizontal mattress, buried and running sub-Q sutures. This workshop is
limited to 25 participants.
Workshop cost: $75.
Basic Pelvic and Soft Tissue Ultrasound
During this two-hour workshop, participants will review and practice techniques on how to utilize transabdominal ultrasound to identify the
uterus and uterine stripe. Additionally, the instructor will review how to identify an intrauterine pregnancy with ultrasound, free pelvic fluid with
ultrasound and establish fetal viability by identifying a fetal heart rate. Participants will also
review and practice techniques to differentiate abscess from simple cellulitis with ultrasound. This workshop is limited to 25 participants.
