Join colleagues from across the state and region at TAPA’s 48th Annual FallFest continuing medical education (CME) conference. The conference will be held Monday, Oct. 7 through Friday, Oct. 11 at the Gatlinburg Convention Center, located at the edge of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park (GSMNP) – the most visited national park in the United States. Conference Program TAPA’s CME Committee is hard at work planning a terrific agenda with top-notch speakers. Join us in October to learn about the newest advances in medicine, including the latest treatment guidelines and therapies. In the Exhibit Hall, enhance your knowledge of the latest products and services available to your patients as you network with exhibitors. New to this year’s conference, TAPA will be offering breakout sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday. These breakout sessions will allow conference attendees to break into smaller groups to encourage in-depth discussions of the materials and provide networking opportunities for attendees. Conference attendees will also have the change to mingle with fellow PAs at the conference mixer at the Gatlinburg Aquarium on Tuesday, Oct. 8. It will be a fun opportunity to enjoy one of Gatlinburg's main attractions while getting to know colleagues better. Discounted tickets can be purchased on the registration form, and attendees are welcome to bring family and friends to this event. Workshops BLS Certification/Recertification: On Tuesday, Oct. 8 conference attendees can renew their BLS certification. Brush up on performing 1- and 2-rescurer CPR for adults, children, and infants; AED and bag masks use; rescue breathing; and performing the Heimlich maneuver. (If your BLS certification has expired, you can take the BLS workshop at FallFest.) We have allocated three hours for this event. Participants will practice various roles in a MegaCode and demonstrate proficiency in order to attain recertification as well as successfully passing the ACLS written examination. Workshop is facilitated by seasoned skilled provider educators to assure participant success. This workshop has limited space, requires pre-registration, and you must complete some activities PRIOR to attending. Click here for more details. In the afternoon, PA students will be split into two sessions where they will practice hands-on procedures on suturing, ultrasound techniques, and joint injections in the large multi-purpose room.
